Reporting Student Absences:
Please call the Faith Formation department (920-739-3196 ext. 140) if your child will not be attending class. Voice mail is avilable for your convenience. We encourage you to obtain all missing class information as soon as possible from your child's catechist. If your chils is absent and we do not receive a call, we may call your home to verify the absence.
Class Cancellation:
The Faith Formation Department will follow the policy of the Appleton School District. No Classes will be held on a day that school has been cancelled due to the weather. In the event of inclement weather later in the day, please use your own judgement. Notice of cancellation will be posted with WHBY or WBAY. You can also call the church office at 739-3196 for a recorded message.
Progress Reports:
Twice a year, at the end of each semester, we will mail home a progress report.  This is a valuable communication tool between Catechists and parents for evaluating your child's progress in class. Confirmation students do not receive an evaluation.
Prepare and present a weekly class. Commitment is for the entire Faith Formation Year, September through April. Catechists are given lesson plans to prepare ahead of class. They are, also, given training and support. Attendance at periodic in-services and catechetical training sessions required.
Substitute Catechist:
Teach religious formation on an on-call basis.
Class Room Aide:
If you don't feel comfortable "teaching" a class but would love to help, come join us on Wednesday evenings as an aide. We all have gifts that can help ou children carry on and learn the faith.
Table Leader:
If you don't feel comfortable teaching the whole class but feel you can share your faith in a small group atmostphere we would love to have you.
Faith Formation Support :
Commitment is for the entire Faith Formation Year, September through April. Positions availabe are:
* Hall Monitor
* Parking Lot Monitor
Assist with Events:
Provide help during special events over the course of the Faith Formation year.
Driver/Chaperone for Service Events:
This is a small commitment with a huge impact! Come help chaperone a service trip/event and you will get more out of it than you put in to it - guaranteed!
Bake for Events:
You would provide a treat for events like Song-Fest and retreats. You will be contacted when you need to bake.
Prayer Partner:
You will be matched with a 1st Communicant and pray for each other during the children's preparation period.
Parent Association member:
This committee discusses the needs of the program. During the 5 times we will meet per year, special attention will be made to encourage all parents to be involved in the Faith Formation program.

All volunteers working with children under 18 as well as individuals at risk will be asked to comply with the U.S. Bishops directives to insure the protection of those individuals under parish auspices. This includes a background check, signature of the Diocesan "Code of Conduct" and attendance at the Diocesan training session, "Protecting God's Children." Information will be sent to your about these requirements soon after you volunteer.
*Catechists, permanent Hall Monitors & Parking Lot Attendants are exempt from tuition when they serve for the year.
